Incident Summary:

04/01/2017: Assailants attached an explosive device to an intellectually disabled man and sent him to target Federal Police officers in Old City neighborhood, Mosul, Nineveh, Iraq. Security forces opened fire, causing the assailant to flee. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
