Incident Summary:

05/17/2017: Assailants attacked the Makala Central Prison in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. At least 50 people were killed and 50 prisoners, including Bunda Dia Kongo (BDK) leader Ne Muanda Nsemi, were freed in the assault. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Bunda Dia Kongo (BDK).
