05/19/2017: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle after being intercepted by security forces at al-Sadra checkpoint in Basra, Iraq. The assailant was the only reported casualty in the blast. This was one of two suicide attacks in Basra on this date. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the incidents.
