Incident Summary:

06/04/2017: Assailants opened fire on Philippine Army (PA) soldiers in Tukanalipao, Maguindanao, Philippines. At least four people, including one soldier and three assailants, were killed in the ensuing clash. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack. Sources also attributed the incident to the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG), the Maute Group, and Jamaatul Muhajirin Wal Ansar (JMWA). Other sources suspected that the attack was carried out by the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement (BIFM), which denied involvement.
