Incident Summary:

06/23/2017: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle near the office of Ehsan Mehboob, a Pakistani Police Inspector General, in Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan. In addition to the assailant, at least 14 people, including seven officers, were killed and 19 other people were injured in the blast. Mehboob, however, was not harmed. The Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State and the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar faction of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) separately claimed responsibility for the attack.
