07/21/2017: Assailants threw hand grenades and opened fire on military personnel in Marawi, Lanao del Sur, Philippines. Nine soldiers were killed and 49 others were wounded in the attack. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack. Sources also attributed the incident to the Maute Group.
