Incident Summary:

08/16/2017: An explosive device detonated targeting joint US and Afghan security forces attempting to clear a building in Achin, Nangarhar, Afghanistan. At least one US soldier was killed and 20 people, including 11 US soldiers and nine Afghan soldiers, were injured in the blast. The Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the incident.
