Incident Summary:

08/25/2017: Assailants attacked Gakara, Extreme-North, Cameroon. At least 15 people were killed and 30 others were wounded. Additionally, eight people were taken hostage and an unknown number of houses were set on fire in the attack. Two of the hostages escaped and returned on September 2, 2017. The whereabouts of the remaining six hostages is unknown. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Boko Haram.
