Incident Summary:
10/16/2017: Assailants armed with grenades and firearms attacked security personnel guarding the Church of Saint George in Arish, North Sinai, Egypt. This was one of two coordinated incidents in Arish on this date. At least five people, including police officers and civilians, were killed and 15 people were injured across both assaults. The Sinai Province of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Criteria 1
