10/21/2017: Assailants opened fire on two Freeport mining cars in Tembagapura, Mimika, Papua, Indonesia. One person was wounded in the attack. The Free Papua Movement (OPM-Organisasi Papua Merdeka) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was intended to disrupt operations at the Freeport Grasberg mine and revive the group's independence negotiations.
