Incident Summary:

12/19/2017: Assailants fired a Kornet missile at a helicopter at Arish International Airport in Arish, North Sinai, Egypt. The helicopter was on the ground but was being used to transport Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar and Defense Minister Sedki Sobhy, neither of whom were injured. However, at least one soldier was killed and two other soldiers were injured in the attack. The Sinai Province of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack.
