12/22/2017: Assailants opened fire on an Iraqi Volunteer Forces checkpoint near Samarra, Saladin, Iraq. At least four soldiers were killed and another soldier was injured in the assault. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack.
