12/25/2017: Assailants, including suicide bombers, attacked Molai, outskirts of Maiduguri, Borno, Nigeria. At least four civilians were killed and five Civilian Joint Task Force members were injured in the ensuing clash, in addition to an unknown number of assailant casualties. One civilian was kidnapped and the outcome of the abduction is unknown. Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the incident.

The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
