12/29/2017: Assailants attacked Peshmerga soldiers in Tuz Khormato district, Saladin, Iraq. This was one of three related incidents on the same day. At least 70 soldiers were killed and an unknown number of other soldiers were injured across all three attacks. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incidents to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
There must be evidence of an intention to coerce, intimidate, or convey some other message to a larger audience (or audiences) than the immediate victims.
