01/10/2018: Assailants opened fire on the vehicle of Tomas Lucena in Velera, Trujillo, Venezuela. Lucena, a Constituent National Assembly member, was killed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, officials attributed the attack to right-wing extremists and suspected that the victim was targeted for his support of President Nicolas Maduro.
