Incident Summary:

01/00/2018: Sometime between January 1, 2018 and January 31, 2018, assailants abducted Yuriy Shapovalov in Donetsk, Ukraine. The outcome of the abduction is unknown, but on April 16, 2020 Shapovalov's captors sentenced him to a 13 year prison sentence. The Donetsk People's Republic claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that Shapovalov was targeted for spying for the Ukrainian government.
