02/17/2018: Assailants opened fire on a military patrol in El Pan, Esmeraldas, Ecuador. There were no reported casualties in the ensuing clash. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) dissidents.
