Incident Summary:

05/06/2018: An assailant opened fire on Ahsan Iqbal in Kanjrur, Punjab, Pakistan. Iqbal, the Interior Minister and a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, was injured in the assault. Abid Hussain, an alleged Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) member, claimed responsibility for the attack and stated that the victim was targeted for his work in amending the Khatm-e-Nubuwwat clause of an election bill. However, a TLP leader denied any involvement in the incident.
