Incident Summary:

05/23/2018: Assailants opened fire on a Syrian Army base in Faida, Deir ez-Zor, Syria. At least 78 people, including nine Russian Armed Forces soldiers, 26 Syrian soldiers, and 43 assailants, were killed and three other Russian soldiers and an unknown number of assailants were injured in the ensuing clash. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the attack.
