05/30/2018: Assailants shot and killed Edgar Rosal Panisan, a village councilor and Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) member, in Mahaba, Agusan del Norte, Philippines. The New People's Army (NPA) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that Edgar Rosal Panisan was targeted because of his involvement in operations against the group, including assisting in the surrender of NPA members to the government and engaging in "psychological war" against civilians.
