Incident Summary:

06/14/2018: Assailants opened fire on Shujaat Bukhari, a senior journalist and editor-in-chief of Rising Kashmir newspaper, on Residency road in Press Colony, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Bukhari and two of his personal security officers (PSOs) were killed in the attack. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspected the involvement of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), who denied involvement.
