08/20/2018: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden backpack targeting a police post in Mesker-Yurt, Chechnya, Russia. The assailant was injured but there were no other reported injuries. This was one of three related incidents that occurred in Chechnya on this date. The Caucasus Province of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks.
