Incident Summary:

08/30/2018: Assailants opened fire on Mario Gonzales, a village chief, outside his residence in Manjuyod, Negros Oriental, Philippines. Gonzales was killed and his wife was injured in the attack. The New People's Army (NPA) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that Mario Gonzales was targeted because he was a police informant.
