Incident Summary:

09/12/2018: Assailants kidnapped Chief John Elate, the traditional ruler of Wotutu village as he was getting off his motorbike in Buea, South-West, Cameroon. The military launched a successful operation by which they freed Elate, but he was injured in the process. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
