09/23/2018: Assailants abducted three Inata gold mine workers near Djibo, Soum, Sahel, Burkina Faso. One hostage was killed on June 19, 2019, while the fate of the remaining hostages is unknown. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources suspected that the attack was carried out by the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (ISGS) and Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimin (JNIM).
