10/20/2018: Assailants opened fire on residents and set fire to buildings in Fuguri, 6 km from Maiduguri, Borno, Nigeria. This was one of three related attacks in Borno on this day. At least two people were killed and an unknown number of other people were injured across all three attacks. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the incidents to Boko Haram.

The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
