Incident Summary:

11/20/2018: Assailants opened fire on Chakama trading centre in Kilifi, Kenya. Five civilians were injured and Silvia Costanza Romano, an Italian Africa Milele Onlus NGO volunteer, was abducted in the attack. The outcome of the kidnapping is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to Al-Shabaab, which officials refuted.
