Incident Summary:

11/26/2018: A suicide bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at the gates of a Sufi shrine that also serves as the residence of Sheikh Abdiweli Elmi in Galkayo, Mudug, Somalia. Following the blast, four additional assailants entered the compound and opened fire. At least 22 people, including Sheikh Elmi and four assailants, were killed and 21 people, including an assailant, were injured in the attack. Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the Sheikh was targeted for allegedly disrespecting the Prophet Mohammad.
