Incident Summary:

02/28/2019: Assailants opened fire on a 57th Infantry Battalion vehicle along the national highway in Sambolawan, Maguindanao, Philippines. At least two soldiers, identified as Nelier Jhon Pinti and Junard Estribor, were killed and two other people, including one soldier, identified as Muqtadir Sampulna, and one civilian, identified as Resty Alvarico, were injured in the assault. The Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement (BIFM) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that the attack was carried out in retaliation for military operations.
