03/08/2019: Thomas J. Heard, a transgender black woman, sprayed a white couple with pepper spray in the Bronx, New York City, New York, United States. One woman and one man were injured in the attack. This was one of five incidents that occurred in New York and was perpetrated by this assailant. No group claimed responsibility for the incidents. Heard reportedly claimed that she "hated white people" before attacking the couple.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
There must be evidence of an intention to coerce, intimidate, or convey some other message to a larger audience (or audiences) than the immediate victims. Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
