Incident Summary:
06/17/2019: An explosive device detonated near the vehicle of Maulana Guldad Khan close to Darbano checkpost in Sagi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. At least one person was killed and two other people, including Khan, a local Awami National Party (ANP) leader, were injured in the blast. Hizb-ul-Ahrar (HuA) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that Maulana Guldad Khan was targeted because he was a military informant. Separately, the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the incident and stated that Khan was involved in anti-Islamic activities.

Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
