Incident Summary:

06/22/2019: Assailants attacked the ruling party headquarters in Bahir Dar, Amhara, Ethiopia. This was one of four coordinated attacks in an attempted coup to overthrow the Amhara government on the same day. Dozens of people were killed across this incident and the attack targeting the police headquarters. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources attributed the attack to a militia led by security chief Asaminew Tsige.
