There were no reported casualties in the blast. The Continuity Irish Republican Army (CIRA) claimed responsibility for the incident; however, authorities questioned the veracity of this claim and attributed the attack to the New Irish Republican Army.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
