Incident Summary:
07/27/2020: An assailant threw a petrol bomb at the fence of the Belgian Parliament building in Wetstraat, Brussels, Belgium. There were no reported casualties in the attack. Pieter V., an unaffiliated individual, claimed resposnibility for the incident and stated that the attack was in protest of the government's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sources also noted that V. may have had far-right sympathies and was active in online groups that alleged that COVID-19 was a hoax and that measures against it were exaggerated.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.
Criterion 2
There must be evidence of an intention to coerce, intimidate, or convey some other message to a larger audience (or audiences) than the immediate victims.
