Incident Summary:
09/15/2020: Assailants opened fire on passengers driving vehicles along a road and set fire to residences in Wassaram, Kaga district, Borno, Nigeria. At least 10 people were killed and two other people were injured in the assault. An unknown number of people were also abducted and their whereabouts are unknown. No group claimed responsibility; however, sources attributed the attack to Boko Haram.

Criteria
Criteria 1
The act must be aimed at attaining a political, economic, religious, or social goal. In terms of economic goals, the exclusive pursuit of profit does not satisfy this criterion. It must involve the pursuit of more profound, systemic economic change.

Successful Attack
Success of a terrorist strike is defined according to the tangible effects of the attack.
