Incident Summary:

10/17/2020: Assailants abducted 12 Sunni civilians from Farhatiyah, Balad district, Saladin, Iraq. At least eight hostages were killed shortly after the abduction. The fate of the remaining hostages is unknown. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sourced attributed the attack to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Sources also suspected the involvement of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haqq.
