Incident Summary:

11/02/2020: A suicide bomber detonated, and two assailants stormed and opened fire on Kabul University in Police District 3, Kabul, Afghanistan. In addition to the three assailants, at least 22 people were killed, 27 people were injured, and an unknown number of students were taken hostage in the ensuing clash that lasted six hours. The Khorasan Chapter of the Islamic State claimed responsibility for the incident, stating that the attack targeted "the graduation of judges and investigators working for the apostate Afghan government." Sources also attributed the attack to the Haqqani Network and the Taliban, which denied involvement.
