Incident Summary:

12/05/2020: Two assailants shot and killed Khalid al-Hameidi (Khaled Humaidi), a Dhale University professor and secular thinker, in Dali, Ad Dali, Yemen. No group claimed responsibility for the incident; however, sources suspected the involvement of either the al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) or the Lahij Province of the Islamic State. Sources also noted that al-Hameidi was a known critic of Islamic extremists and encouraged mixed-gender activities at the university.
