Even in the wake of newly implemented security laws, Garissa University College in Kenya was attacked by Shabab gunman, leaving 147 dead. Data from the Global Terrorism Database in this article shows that since 2012, the Shabab has murdered more than 600 people in Kenya, greatly weakening their tourism industry.
