Applications Available for START Pre- and Post-Doctoral Fellowships, and for START Undergraduate Research Program

  • START Pre- and Post-Doctoral Fellowships

The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) today opened the application process for its 2008-2009 Pre- and Post-Doctoral Fellowship Awards. Fellows must be actively engaged in critical research related to the study of terrorism and responses to terrorism. START will select 10 fellows, each of whom will receive $5,000 to enhance his/her START research and professional development, as well as funds to attend the 2008 and 2009 START Annual Meetings in College Park, MD. All applicants to the program must be supported by a START Principal Investigator.

  • START Undergraduate Research Program

The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) today opened the application process for its 2008-2009 Undergraduate Research Program (URP) Awards. Applicants must be nominated by a START Principal Investigator and must be enrolled in the Investigator's home university. Selected URP participants receive a $3,000 stipend to support research on a faculty-led START research project and to conduct original research related to the faculty-led project. URP participants also be funded to attend a two-day orientation in August 2008 in College Park, Maryland, as well as to attend the 2009 START Annual Meeting, also in College Park.
