In "Fighting International Terrorism with Social Science Knowledge" (Footnotes, Feb. 2005), the American Sociological Society's Johanna Ebner provides an overview of how the START Consortium will use the tools of social science to study and analyze the behavior of individuals and groups associated with terrorism. In particular, Ebner noted the team approach to be taken by Consortium members organized into multiple projects under three main working groups, as well as the use of global databases and network analysis.
