The University of Maryland's College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS), along with the Anwat Sadat Chair for Peace and Development, will host a forum and panel discussion on March 3, 2015 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in the Colony Ballroom of the Stamp Student Union on the UMD campus.

Guests will include BSOS Dean Gregory Ball UMD President Wallace Loh, and a panel of three experts, moderated by Dr. Shibley Telhami, Anwar Sadat Chair for Peace and Development:

  • Ambassador Thomas Pickering, Career Ambassador with experience spanning five decades, former Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, member of the Iran Project;
  • Dr. Jessica Matthews, Distinguished Fellow and Former President of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, member of the Iran Project;
  • Dr. Suzanne Maloney, Senior Fellow in Foreign Policy at the Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution, former advisor for the U.S. State Department on Iran, and author of Iran's Political Economy Since the Revolution (forthcoming); and
