Incident Summary:

12/17/1999: Suspected Armed Islamic Group (GIA) militants attacked a group of worshipers as they left a mosque hamlet of Lampar, Algeria. The assailants, armed with axes, knives, and guns attacked worshippers, killing 12 and wounding three people. The killers decapitated one man and shot another victim as she drove past the scene before setting fire to her car with her body still inside.
