Incident Summary:

03/07/2000: Seven people were killed in an ambush by United Liberation Front of Assam militants. Nine policemen went to Barpukhuri village on a complaint that a girl had been kidnapped by a resident of that village and had returned to Sadiya with the families concerned to sort out the matter when their vehicle was ambushed by the militants. The police retaliated, and killed one militant.
