Incident Summary:

10/12/2000: Suicide bombers in a small boat loaded with explosives blasted a house-sized hole in the U.S. Navy destroyer, the U.S.S. Cole, which was stopping for fuel in the Port of Aden, Yemen. Seventeen American sailors were killed and 35 others were injured by the blast. Al-Qa 'ida was later discovered to be behind the attack.
