Incident Summary:

11/28/2000: Ten armed members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) seized the wife of a Filipino-Chinese businessman in Alicia, Philippines. In a failed rescue attempt six kidnappers and a bystander were killed and three civilians and a militiaman were wounded. Then four of the attackers and their victim sped off on a twin-engine pump boat. It was believed that the suspects were bound for either Basilan or one of the eleven islands of Zamboanga City.
