07/09/2001: Palestinian paramilitaries detonated a claymore mine near a passing Israeli Army vehicle. Captain Shai Shalom Cohen was killed when shrapnel penetrated his head. One other soldier was lightly injured in the leg while a third was unharmed. The Battalions of the al-Aqsa victims claimed responsibility for the attack.
