Incident Summary:

05/12/2002: Four Algerian soldiers who were abducted at a bogus roadblock on Wilaya Road near the town of Boghni on May 12, 2002 and were found dead with their throats slit on May 14, 2002 near the town of Mechtras. A group of armed Islamists affiliated with the Draa El Mizan seriat were blamed for the incident and the Algerian military launched an offensive into the area where the soldiers were kidnapped. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
