06/24/2003: The Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) rebels in Uganda raided the Catholic-founded Lwala Girls Secondary School in Kaberamaido District, situated 30 miles from the town of Soroti, Uganda. The attackers abducted 56 girls, 23 of whom Ugandan military forces rescued in the following three days.
