Incident Summary:

06/16/2004: Suspected Islamic militants in Indian Kashmir abducted eight ruling party workers and shot four of them, one of whom died in hospital. The eight, all Muslims affiliated to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), were abducted from Ashmuqam village in southern Anantnag district. No one else was killed or injured in the attack.
